The par-72 courses include Apache (7,211 yards), Chiricahua (7,418 yards), Cochise (7,026 yards), Geronimo (7,453 yards) and Renegade (7,443 yards). The Tradition, a Senior PGA Tour major, is played each April on the Cochise course. The facilities at Desert Mountain are first-rate, with 3 Clubhouses, swimming, tennis, spa and fitness. Desert Mountain has a Deferred Equity Membership plan that is included in the price of a home or lot. Members must be property owners.

Established in 1986 by Lyle Anderson with a master plan created by Taliesin Associated Architects (founded by Frank Lloyd Wright), Desert Mountain is being developed by companies affiliated with Lyle Anderson and Crescent Real Estate Equities. Desert Mountain has committed to no more than 2,665 units on 8,000 acres. Only a limited number of properties offered by the developer remain.
